I thought I'd share a little about the movies I watched before I came to Paris this summer! I'd seen them all before, but nothing gets you more excited for a trip than watching your favorite Hollywood stars explore it too.
Now if you're not into romantic comedies or thrillers or old-movie musicals, we probably shouldn't have a movie night together, BUT I encourage you to watch these if only for what they show of the most beautiful parts of France!
1. French Kiss (1995)
Meg Ryan heads to Paris to win back her ex-fiancé, Kevin Kline plays a frenchman, hilarity ensues, it's a classic.
I've been quoting this movie A LOT since I've been here.

2. To Catch a Thief (1955)
Alfred Hitchcock, Cary Grant, Grace Kelly, and a mysterious string of jewel thefts in the luxurious French Riviera - how can you go wrong? This movie inspired my trip to Nice & Monaco this past weekend!
3. Ratatouille (2007)
This movie shows off Paris with a little bit of Disney magic!
It makes me want to eat everything in Paris!

4. Gigi (1958)
While there's current a musical version of this story on Broadway, I'm partial to the original movie featuring Leslie Caron and Maurice Chevailer. I've felt the need to sing I Don't Understand the Parisians too.
5. Midnight in Paris (2011)
If this movie doesn't make you want to hop on a plane to Paris, I don't know what will.
Great film & beautiful cinematography!
6. Charade (1963)
The movie starts at a ski resort in the Alps, then moves to Paris. This one is a classic thriller, featuring my favorites, Audrey Hepburn and Cary Grant. Just wait until you see her costumes!
7. The Devil Wears Prada (2006)
While most of this movie takes place in New York, the scenes in Paris are one of my favorite parts! I won't be throwing my phone into the fountain at Place de la Concorde, but Anne Hathaway you go ahead.
8. Funny Face (1957)
Another oldie, but goodie with an all-star cast of Audrey Hepburn, Fred Estaire, and Kay Thompson. Funny Face celebrates Paris filming by the Eiffel Tower, on the Seine, and up in Montmartre. Watch it for the lovable songs and Audrey Hepburn's absurd dance routine in a smoky French cafe.
9. Julie & Julia
Julie & Julia tells the story of how Julia Child learned to cook during her time in Paris. It is full of heart, a great cast, and makes you want to make a reservation for dinner in Paris, asap! Meryl Streep is pure gold and this movie will have you saying BON APPETIT (in your best Julia Child impression.)
This is terrific! Love it!
